The Real Reason I Started My Own Pregnancy/Postpartum Physical Therapy Practice

As a new mom, I would cry myself to sleep at night because I dreaded the idea of waking from a short slumber to breastfeed—something that was extremely painful for me. My back and shoulders hurt, my nipples hurt, and I was EXHAUSTED. I was in the throes of being a first-time mom; it didn’t occur to me that there were people out there who could help. It also didn’t occur to me that I was (hello!) a physical therapist and I should have known what to do for that nagging back/shoulder pain.

The experience was a wake-up call. Despite all my training and expertise, I found myself feeling lost, unsupported, and overwhelmed during one of the most vulnerable times of my life. That’s when I realized—if I, a trained professional, was struggling this much, how many other moms out there were silently enduring the same pain and exhaustion without any idea that help was available?

I saw firsthand the gap in care between when you’re “released” from your OB at six weeks postpartum and the lack of guidance provided for lingering pains or safely returning to activity. The focus seemed to shift entirely to the baby, leaving moms to fend for themselves when it came to their own physical and emotional recovery. I knew something had to change.

Bridging the Gap for Moms

ReNew Me Physical Therapy and Wellness was created out of a deep desire to fill that gap and ensure no mom feels like she has to navigate the physical and emotional challenges of motherhood alone. My goal is to provide moms with the tools, care, and support they need to truly thrive in this season of life.

At ReNew Me, I focus on helping moms regain strength, confidence, and a sense of control over their bodies during pregnancy and postpartum. Whether it’s alleviating pain, addressing changes like diastasis recti, or safely returning to running or sports, I’m here to provide the care and guidance that I wish I’d had as a new mom.

Why This Mission Matters

Motherhood is hard, but you don’t have to go through it in pain or without support. The physical demands of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum recovery are significant, yet so often overlooked. Moms are expected to “bounce back” while also navigating sleepless nights, feeding schedules, and the mental load of parenting. It’s no wonder so many women feel burned out and broken.

I’m here to change that narrative. My mission is to empower moms to feel strong, capable, and ready to take on whatever life throws at them—because you deserve to thrive, not just survive.

What Makes ReNew Me Different

ReNew Me is more than just a physical therapy practice; it’s a promise to moms that they don’t have to do this alone. Here’s what sets us apart:
